The January transfer window sometimes is like shuffling a deck of cards expecting to see something new. But its just the same old story. There are fewer activities that take place in terms of real money football players making a big move to big clubs. Small players are the ones who seek to make the headlines through loan moves or permanent move to Asians clubs on deadline day. The same old story continues in this year’s January Transfer deadline day.
Even though most premier league clubs have been far from doing business this window period. Teams such as Chelsea, Arsenal, Bournemouth and Huddersfield have been very busy.
Let’s give you an insight into what was really taking place in the January transfer window. And what to expect on this January transfer deadline day.
Premier League January Transfer Signings
As we have mentioned before, most clubs were not strengthening their team by big money moves. Chelsea was on the negotiating table with Juventus in pursuit of bringing Gonzalo Higuain to the Bridge. The Blues have been having problems in their attacking forte and the former Real Madrid striker is likely to be the solution to their problem.
Elsewhere, Bournemouth managed to strengthen their defence as they brought in defender Chris Mepham from the Championship side Brentford. Meanwhile, Arsenal made their January transfer move on Thursday. The Gunners managed to secure a move for Barcelona wonderkid Denis Suarez on loan.
The Gunners have been also the favourite to sign Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan. But that is unlikely to happen because Inter is not willing to sell this January.
Furthermore, there are other clubs and players that could secure their moves on transfer deadline day.
Marouane Fellaini could be heading to the exit door as his move from Manchester United to Shandong Luneng could finalise.
